Cabinets are up!

This was a fun weekend of work on the new house. Pictures will be coming, but I wanted to Praise God for the weather, the energy, the safety and the delight of working on the soffit on the back side of our house, of painting the storage rooms in the basement and of getting the kitchen cabinets up on the wall. It is so fun to rejoice in every little step forward.

Great Night!

Cindy Shearer and I went to the Michael Card concert tonight. It was a very simple time of worship and singing. Michael Card does such a night job of putting scripture to music. I loved the fact that tonight was filled with scripture, not just emotion.

Michael told us about a new website where you can download christian music, lyrics and studies for free. It's called www.byfor.com It stands for "by Christians, for Christians." I haven't checked it out yet, but am going to soon.

Anyway, thanks, Cindy, for reminding me how much 2 hours of a concert can revive my spirit and strengthen my thirst for The Word.

Our 3 alive after their skydive

I'm not really sure how it happened, but somehow...someone...got it in their head that they wanted to skydive. Brad and I gave them part of their skydive as a birthday present. So, on Friday, May 22nd at 5:30 p.m., we arrived at the Boone Airport and prepared for Amy, Matthew and Nicole to do their first ever tandum skydive jump.
First, they were trained...

then they "suited up"

Once they were set...they went up, up, up

and then down, down, down !

Matthew was first.

Amy was second.

Nicole was third. And, it was a good thing she was. Chris was in Webster City showing their house (it's for sale), and he got to the airport just before Nicole jumped out of the plane.

They all survived! They all enjoyed it. And it will be a GREAT memory of their birthday celebrations for 2009. As for mom and dad...we're glad they're all still here to tell the tale!

Gotta love the new millenium!

Thanks to Nicole and Amy we are up and running in this fancy blog world. It's quite the rush to see pictures of family half way around the world. Here's a picture of us saying our goodbye's to Matthew and Amy the night they left for Florida. Quite the group, huh?

They've Arrived!

Brad and Suzi have finally arrived in the 21st century...they've got a blog! Many more interesting blogs to come, but now they can keep track of their kid's daily lives in Florida, India, Georgia, UNI, wherever they happen to be. YAY!
